It was in 1988, manufacture of Ayurvedic medicines was started in the FLORA LABORATORIES. It was started by a person who has a consistent interest in plants, nature and Ayurveda. He naturally opted to study Botany and went up to get his Specialization in Alternative medicine. With an innate interest in natural medicine, he followed the footsteps of his father who had started a pharmaceutical company in 1971. It was in this premise, Flora laboratories commenced manufacture of Ayurvedic medicines. The person is none other than Dr. S. Senthil Kumar, B.Sc., D.N.M., R.M.P, (Ayurveda) who has the recognition of state and central Government, as a manufacturing chemist and pharmacist of Ayurveda.

With his penchant for perfection, Dr. S. Senthil Kumar put his heart and soul into quality manufacturing, using pure and potent herbs in innovative combinations and produced cost effective Ayurvedic Products. With his talent and guidance soon Flora Laboratories flourished. He never compromised with quality or tradition. Soon Flora Laboratories attained a leadership position in the field of Ayurveda in Southern India. The Ayurvedic medical profession accepted his medicines. Exports to U.K., Canada, Singapore and the Middle East followed, earning valuable foreign exchange. The company also supplied quality medicines for years continuously to Indian Government hospitals and quassi – Government agencies through D.G.S.& D.
